The coordinatively unsaturated chromium(II)-based Cr3[(Cr4Cl)3(BTT)8]2 (Cr−BTT; BTT3−=1,3,5-benzenetristetrazolate) metal–organic framework (MOF) has been shown to exhibit exceptional selectivity towards adsorption of O2 over N2/H2. Using periodic density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we attempted to decipher the origin of this puzzling selectivity. By computing and analyzing the magnetic exchange coupling, binding energies, the partial density of states (pDOS), and adsorption isotherms for the pristine and gas-bound MOFs [(Cr4(X)4Cl)3(BTT)8]3− (X=O2, N2, and H2), we unequivocally established the role of spin states and spin coupling in controlling the gas selectivity. The computed geometries and gas adsorption isotherms are consistent with the earlier experiments. The binding of O2 to the MOF follows an electron-transfer mechanism resulting in a CrIII superoxo species (O2.−) with a very strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the two centers, whereas N2/H2 are found to weakly interact with the metal center and hence only slightly perturb the associated coupling constants. Although the gas-bound and unbound MOFs have an S=0 ground state (GS), the nature of spin the configurations and the associated magnetic exchanges are dramatically different. The binding energy and the number of oxygen molecules that can favorably bind to the Cr center were found to vary with respect to the spin state, with a significant energy margin (47.6 kJ mol−1). This study offers a hitherto unknown strategy of using spin state/spin couplings to control gas adsorption selectivity in MOFs.  相似文献

The crystallization of a complex having electron transfer properties in a polar space group can induce the polarization switching of a crystal in a specific direction, which is attractive for the development of sensors, memory devices, and capacitors. Unfortunately, the probability of crystallization in a polar space group is usually low. Noticing that enantiopure compounds crystallize in Sohncke space groups, this paper reports a strategy for the molecular design of non-ferroelectric polarization switching crystals based on the use of intramolecular electron transfer and chirality. In addition, this paper describes the synthesis of a mononuclear valence tautomeric (VT) cobalt complex bearing an enantiopure ligand. The introduction of enantiomer enables the crystallization of the complex in the polar space group (P21). The polarization of the crystals along the b-axis direction is not canceled out and the VT transition is accompanied by a change in the macroscopic polarization of the polar crystal. Polarization switching via electron transfer is realized at around room temperature.  相似文献

Refractory wounds have always been an important issue to healthcare systems, whose healing process is always delayed by multiple factors, including bacterial infections, chronic inflammation, and excessive exudates, etc. Employing multifunctional wound dressings is recognized as an effective strategy to deal with refractory wounds, which has yielded promising outcomes in recent years. Among these advanced wound dressings, fibrous dressings have gained growing attention due to their unique merits. Such wound dressings have demonstrated great potential in delivering theranostic agents, such as antibacterial agents, anti-inflammatory drugs, growth factors, and diagnostic probes, etc., for the purposes of accelerating wound healing. This paper reviews the development of multifunctional fibrous dressings and their applications in treating refractory wounds. The construction approaches of novel fibrous dressing with capabilities of antibacterial, anti-inflammation, exudate management and diagnosis were also introduced. Furthermore, the existing problems and challenges are also discussed briefly.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to develop and validate a sensitive and specific stability-indicating reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method for the quantitative determination of Sugammadex sodium together with its process and possible degradation impurities. The pKa value is 2.82. The chromatographic conditions have been optimized by the Hypersil Gold 250 mm X 4.6 mm, 3 µ RP-18 columns with gradient elution using a mobile phase composed of 0.1% phosphoric acid, acetonitrile, and methanol. The eluents were monitored at 205 nm with a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min with an injection volume of 20 µL. The optimized method produced symmetrical and sharp peaks with good separation between the process and degradation impurities. The forced degradation study was carried out under acid, base, oxidation, and thermal conditions to demonstrate the stability-indicating capability of the method. The method was validated as per the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) Q2 (R1) and showed excellent specificity, precision, linearity, accuracy, and robustness. The developed HPLC method was precise with a value of 0.25%. The relative standard deviation of accuracy represented by the recovery studies ranged between 89.5% and 104.6%. Linearity analyses indicated a correlation coefficient value of greater than 0.996 for Sugammadex and its known impurities. The LOD and LOQ values for Sugammadex ranged from 0.017% to 0.050%, and for its related impurities, they ranged from 0.015% to 0.055%. The stability of the analytical solution was evaluated and was stable for 75 h when stored at 5 °C. No chromatographic interference was observed during the degradation studies and also in the blank chromatogram.
